Ok, just a question: I have a Irish passport, and I currently live in Berlin, Germany. I was thinking of just flying over to Japan as a tourist and looking for a job there. First of all, do I need a visa? It seems they have some exemption arrangement, but I'm not sure.
Is it true that I could find a job on a tourist visa, then apply for a work visa within Japan once I get the job? Would I then have to do a visa run?
Secondly, will I need to show a return ticket to get into Japan, or just sufficient funds for one? (Would a credit card count?)
Lastly, where do you look for jobs once there? Any popular papers or websites to use?
Thanx |

I did what you are plan to do, so it can be done. But now I have a job I'm not so fond of because I needed the visa sponsorship.
To answer most of your questions in all seriousness: It depends on who is working the desks when you fly in. |
