sometimes you do have to change at Esaka, but not always, yes.
It depends on the train.

Foreigners in Osaka often have a strange impression of foreigners in Kyoto, why is that? You think we are all running aroung in kimonos going to calligraphy lessons etc.

From Osaka Airport, you only have two options to get to Shin-Osaka station...

1) a direct bus from outside the north terminal

2) monorail from Itami to Senrichuo. At Senrichuo transfer to the subway, and take the subway from Senrichuo to Shin-Osaka
