Today I was a substitute teacher and got the teaching notes just before class..they read..

Time..5 minutes
Objective..warmer, prepare the students to learn names of some foods.
GROPING..individual

So there you have it..the students got to warm up by groping themselves to prepare for a lesson on food..maybe meat and two veg or a couple of melons..?

This really was in the teaching guide that I got ..Any more out there?

"once again",

You don't say whether your students are elementary schoolers, junior high schoolers, or adult refugees. Who do you substitute for?

As to tips, I'd say that if you ever substitute for this person again, try to get a step ahead of his/her shabby notes in 2 ways:

1. Try to guarantee more lead time.
2. Pack a lesson of your own just in case.

The Second Edition of The Cambridge Encyclopedia of Langauge, on page 98, states that Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back was made in 1983. Noooooo it was made in 1980.

Are they pretending to be so snooty as to not know that? I wonder. . . .

Don't you just love it when you get a cover lesson and prep some nice student activities for you to watch, if you have time, only to find out there is only one student in class and the book says "get into pairs", "interview your partner" "find someone who..."
