Hi All
I am considering taking a job in Hanoi that pays 1425 USD/month (but no apartment). I was wondering if I would be able to lead a relatively comfortable existence on this amount and perhaps even sock away a few bucks every month. I am really only concerned with being able to live alone and eat decent local food.

Hey that is more than enough to live really. YOu will still be able to go out and party once in a while and have a decent place. Food is a major factor but the street food is yummy and cheap and the there are places to eat from 50cents a meal to 100$us.
What city are you coming to ? I know a few apartments for rent in Hanoi if your coming this way.
