Just want some advice on location for a newbie Barcelona or Madrid. Also would like to be where I can work fulltime and learn Spanish too!

Madrid for sure: if you're a newbie then as there's more work here you'll be able to find more hours even without experience. In terms of learning Spanish, you're better off here as well, as the locals all speak only Castellano and not Catalan.

Thank you so much also.. do you know what I would be looking at salary wise? I have my BS Degree and TESOL certification. Spain is really my first choice but I have been told several times that I would be better off in Japan.

You'd make enough to live on, but not to pay on that big debt back in the States.

Also, remember that in Spain you are extremely unlikely to be able to work legally - lots of people work illegally, but there are risks and it's not for long-term. You might want to read the related thread here about 'how to get papers for the EU.'
