Hi all
I've worked in China and Korea but not Hong Kong. I'm currently working on my masters in TESOL in California and will be doing a practicum this fall from Sept-Dec. I am thinking of taking a job at a school for talented and gifted children in H.K. and finishing out my practicum and thesis there and then working out the rest of the year contract.
The pay is something like U.S.D $2300- 2800.00 (depending on exp and qual) per month with round trip airfare, furnished single accomodation and NO health insurance. I'd have to buy this for myself. Still the contract seems quite good. I will be paying back graduate loans as well while I work and so salary is a pretty big factor for me this time. The principal of this school has his Ph.d and is very qualified to oversee my practicum, I understand.
Any thoughts on this? That salary is low compared to what I could make in the states but with the other benefits, it seems to good to pass up... then again...
I'd love to get some feedback on this! |
