But I am going to tell ytou just that - do your own research, buddy, don't be such a couch potato that gets all the help from us here for free; wha'ts in it for us anyway?
You are interested in the money? Then why do you want to go east, man, why? Why not stay put?
Methinks you ought to think better about reasons for living in a foreign country. |

I hope you're not thinking of teaching English. That particular language uses things like capital letters and punctuation. |

biker dude, seeing as u r interested. my reasons for working abroad are simple. life at home sucks. ive already lived in vietnam for 2 years so dont get all high and mighty with your "Then why do you want to go east, man, why? Why not stay put? " nonsense. also everone is interested in making money but i am also fascinated with asian life. if u really want to know. gee wizz, ask a simple question and u have to put up with heaps of nonsense, from a bloody hippy of all people......... |

what is it with forums that let people think they can be cheeky and arrogant and generally not very polite. steppenwolfe if u r an american then i half forgive u, otherwise get a life. if u had read my message properly u would have realised that i said it is costing me 5pounds to use this internet, thats $10 to u, an hour. so i dont have time to browse the threads. also if nobody puts any info on it in the first place then what would be the point in browsing the threads.
u make me angry. its just nice to be nice. whats in it for u? nothing, u just get the pleasure of helping someone. now put that joint out and go to bed u lazy bloody hippy. |

bazzap, annoying people like Steppy is unnecessary, especially when there's a "sticky" at the top of the forum of 4 pages on.......... visas!
What course? Chinese? TEFL? Gong Fu?
And asking what the pay is like is similar to asking what a prostitute earns.
It depends on:
How rich the client is.
How many hours you're willing to put up with it.
And of course, how good looking and white you are. Being well educated, according to the consensus here, is not needed.
But you should fit in just fine. |

I admit this new kid on the block has lyric talent...
He ought to be a little less stingy about his Internet access outlays, though! |

At the moment, China is a brilliant place to make money.
Come to Shanghai, work at a foreign owned school, and I'll eat my hat if you can't earn 15,000RMB a month. The savings potential here is currently very good.
Z visa is easy to get. If you're in Shanghai, the school will sort it out for you. Just bring your degree and any teaching certs, pop along for a medical and bob's your uncle. |

that was worth the price of admission...
i would say with the cost of the Internet..looking for a job in china is gonna cost ya..as most of the work you have to do is by Internet..and the Chinese can waste your time...

go to the country you want to see and worry bout money later..if you have a job offer before you come to china ..you may be offered a z visa bu the employer...in the old days they use too ask you to come on an L..but these days..it may be better to come on a z (if you have a job) or f (if you don't)....and with the cost of the Internet..use outlook or another program to download you emails from potential employers... |
