Hi,
I'm looking into the teaching options in the USA for Sept 2007, and have come up with California Charter school program. Has anybody done it? Any experiences working with Charter schools vs. Public Schools?
I know you dont have to be certified to teach in a Charter, but once you get the certification yourself, would this count as experience to Intl Schools? I imagine it would.... |

| Charter schools are publicly funded with tax payer money but exist outside of public school regulations- issues like licensure, separation of church-state, passing state exams, etc don't come into play. As you can imagine, it's a crapshoot. Great heaping sums of cashola are to be made so every con man is in the charter school game, but there are some genuinely good schools with sincere, committed teachers, parents and administrators. If the program gives you a choice of which school to go to, it sounds pretty good. Can you post a link? |
