Strange news from a stranger.

Something was found during a routine exam, and now it requires a biopsy. The removal will be on Tuesday. And then the wait for the good/bad news. Meanwhile the school that hired me is about to purchase my airline ticket. (Unusual, yes, but never mind that.)

Have you or someone you know been in a similar position?

My stomach is in knots over this.

Crying or Very sad

how long do you have before you leave? Is it enough time to get the biopsy results back?

Because they're looking for cancer, it shouldn't take more than a week. Usually if they find cancer cells, the turn around is fairly quick. I'm just thinking about the what-if's ... what if I have health problems with this when I'm there? And my school finds out that I knew about this before I left? I would need their help with translation at the doctor's office, so they'd know what's what. Even if I'm fine, there will be the requisite 3-6 month follow-up. Even if they say it's not cancer, something made this thing grow. What's to say the next one won't be cancerous? Typical thoughts of someone in my position. Anyway, thanks for your well-wishes.

One minute I'm fearing cancer and the next thing I know the cyst can't be found. It's like it magically disappeared. I went to a women's urgent care center today, and much to everyone's surprise there wasn't anything to remove and biopsy. So I'm fine (God willing). Thanks for the PMs and your kind inquiries. My flight leaves for Japan in two weeks. Now that I know I'm in the clear I can give my full attention to my move. I'm a bit embarrassed for having started this thread, but I must say what a comfort it was hearing via PMs about other women who have been through similar situations. I hope you are all doing well and enjoying good health.

Cheers.

What can I say: Miracles happen once in a while...when you believe...(sorry, I had to quote the cheesy Princess Diaries movie theme song)
But congrats!

Hi! Good news you are okay. Of course, a scare like this will probably give you an insight into how important getting good insurance is.

Definitely won't go without insurance again. I hate paying out money in the name of 'worst case scenario' ... but worst case scenario happens to people every day. So I'll welcome the peace of mind.

Thanks, everyone. Razz
