Do those Brazilian-Japanese factory workers have BA degrees like most people employed by NOVA? If yes, what the hell are they doing in factories? If no, I don't see how using this example is relevant at all.

I would put good money on that if they had had a chance to get a BA degree (or maybe something more useful than some arts degree), they would have.

What's your point? That poor Brazilian migrants working in Japanese factories never had the equal opportunities to get higher education? Yes, and...? I certainly don't lack sympathy for factory workers or immigrants. Most of those Brazilians were allowed entry into Japan merely due to their Japanese heritage, nothing else. If they can carve out a better life here than back home in the slums, power to them!!

The point in all of this was that one not need look for inspiration in those of lesser status and opportunity to justify the lousy ESL job that is NOVA.

Again, don't be sold by the huge advertising NOVA machine. They spend far more on advertisement than they do paying their teachers. NOVA is a racket that sells the idea of English as coolness and hipness, and even as far as rackets go, there are far better ones to work for in Japan.

All I did was answer your question. You didn't get it though.

Ok, you win.

For anyone else, do your homework on NOVA. It's a terrible company to work for. You can do better.

Good luck.

Shocked Confused Cool Laughing

Sounds a bit desperate. Japan is okay, but I wouldn't be selling my organs to come here.
