About time somebody challenged that ridiculous rule. The big eikaiwas love to have their little controlling rules. It's in keeping with their view of students and teachers as commodities and not people.

After reading this article I clicked on to the Nova home page and was particularly surprised to read Nova's mission statement which concludes that their goal (I'm paraphrasing from memory here) is to promote communication anytime, anywhere and with whomever you choose. But I guess that doesn't apply to instructors and their students chatting outside of Nova. Idea
