Hi everyone-
I just found out I'll be living on Peu de la Creu in Barcelona this summer while I'm doing my CELTA course. I was just wondering if anyone knew about that neighborhood (what area of Barcelona is it?). Any advice? Metro? Nightlife? Close to the beach? Close to...? etc. Thanks so much I appreciate all of your help!! |

It's a really central location, just a few blocks off Las Ramblas (metro: Placa Catalunya would be safer than Sant Antoni if you were returning at night). A nearby landmark would be the MACBA. Since most CELTA students party near Las Ramblas, you'll be in a really good location for getting home at night. There is tons of shopping and restaurants nearby. Not walking distance to the beach, but only a few metro stops away. You are kind of on the border of Raval, which can be a little ghetto, but I wouldn't worry too much. You might even be within walking distance of your school, depending on where you're taking the course. |

Thanks so much for the insight. I think I'm a little too far away from the school to walk -- the school is on Gran Via Carles iii (or something like that). Would you happen to know what the easiest -- but also cheapest-- way is to get from the airport to this street? I heard something about the RENFE train?? But does it go to a metro stop? Thanks!! |
