Hey people.
Quick question. Will there be or do you know of any Iranian restaurants in Jubail?
I'm sure there'll be Lebanese which will be a nice distant second.
Any feedback will be much appreciated |

No Iranian restaurants, and to the best of my knowledge no Lebanese either.
Outside of fast food and run-of-the-mill Chinese, Philipino and Indian restaurants Jubail is pretty much of a dead loss for eating out. |

Sure... But why when I can get someone else to do it for me!
Besides it's always better when you have Chelo Kabob in a restauant with fresh bread etc!! Yum.

| While there are no Iranian restaurants in Jubail, there are a few Iranians. There is one restaurant in Damman that claims to be an Iranian restaurant, but when I went with my family they had no idea what fessenjoon, lubia polo or jujey kabob were and the chelo kebab wasn't all that great. If you want real Iranian food, your going to have to get to Bahrain to find it. There are a number of decent Persian restaurants there. |

Hey guys, thanks for all your feedback.
Queen of Sheba, just to clear something up. Although in a previus post I described my background coming from Iran, my famly is in fact ethnically Armenian and not Iranian. I should have made that clearer before.
There was and still is a sizable Armenian community living In Iran. My parents left along with so many others after the fall of HRM Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi.

If by 'they' you mean the Iranian Government, then maybe. If you mean the poor Iranian people then probably not.  |

What on earth are you lot talking about? That hostage saga was more than 20 years ago wasn't it? I don't see how it's relevant here. I just meant I don't like the taste of Iranian food. It's about grub, not politics!
Some examples of Iranian dishes that fail the VN taste test:
KooKoo-yeh Seeb-Zamini is way too stodgy for my liking; Aash-e Shalgham always gives me gut pains; and don�t get me started on Albaloo Polow! I mean, really, what�s with all those black cherries? They�ve no place in a dish like that.
But don't let me put you off it Noodles. Each to his own and all. Good luck with the search. |

You apparently read that too quickly. She was NOT referring to the American hostages held in Tehran way back when. She was very clearly referring to the IRANIAN diplomats who were snatched by American forces in Iraq and have been imprisoned who knows where ever since... There are some that think that this may be why the British navy personnel were picked up last week.
Current events... try google...
But as you said... not relevant anyway as the topic is food, but Cleo does love politics.

I'll have to agree with yu there! I'm not a big fan myself. But Kabob and other dishes like korme sabzi, zereshk polo, must o'musir blah, blah, blah really tickle my taste buds! |
