|

Hey all,
I'm currently in Rosario looking for work, but as of yet, have not had any luck. I believe that next week, if nothing comes up, I will be forced to move to a different city.
I don't like the "bigness" of BA and was recently told that finding work in Mendoza is difficult right now. I would love to stay in Argentina, and so was wondering how the job situation is in Cordoba.
I heard that the job situation is pretty good, but can anyone living there now, give me any details?
1. Would it be relatively easy for me to find some quality work in Cordoba?
2. Are there lots of English institutions that are looking for teachers?
3. Would leaving next week be a bad time to go because classes have already started (I'm not sure when school starts over there, but here in Rosario, classes for kids started last week...)?
Thanks ahead of time. |

hey,
Might I ask, what have you been doing to market yourself for teaching? I'm in Crdoba, and I've posted about 50 flyers around the city and have gotten about 15 replies over the past couple of weeks--these are for privates. There is work to be had here (though I can't see why Rosario would be much different--besides a larger student pop in Crdoba--esp. for the lack of native speakers living there). If you want more info, send me a pm.

Kath,
Recently, someone told me that Mendoza is NOT a good place to be for English teachers right now. Aparently, the hiring season long passed for that particular (the man told me it begins in February). I forgot who told me, but the man said that he might leave Mendoza if he couldn't find work (which I don't think he did...)
If you would like know, RIGHT NOW (for about 2 or 3 more weeks), Buenos Aires is just beginning the hiring season. It seems as though all of the insitutes and places are going to be looking for people for the very week after Semana Santa.
The pay here seems to be crap, but if you're looking for work, BA has lots of it... |
