So.... how's life treating everyone in Japan.
I haven't been on this forum in a while. I'm just curious. |

Not bad. Got the run-of-the-mill eikaiwa 4th month blues, though. |

Mmm. Eikaiwa blues. We got a new JET about 1.5 months ago. This woman is driving me up the wall.
But, on a positive note, it's Golden Week soon and I'm off on a two-week trip back to Blighty. |

Springtime in Japan is always amazing so, yeah, life's pretty good right now.
As usual, I'm dreading the upcoming rainy season. |

I agree with southofreality, springtime is great. New school year, new faces. Also, I enjoy the short time I don't need a coat or to double up on deodorant. Plus, I just started my 4th year at my company. Looking forward to the bonus next paycheck . The job is great. Lots of smiling kids, but I can do without the kanchos.
Also I am hosting another cooking party for my Japanese friends. This theme: Mexican. Tacos, quesadillas, salsa, and so on. All from scratch. They have been requesting Mexican for a long time and it looks like it will be quite big (or at least as much as my apartment can hold). |

It's my birthday and I'm going to watch 300 today. Yay! And I ate pancakes with strawberries & cream for breakfast! And I found my I-pod! Woo! And I drank too much espresso! |

May i ask why? Rainy season here is fanatstic. Sitting indoors with the heavy rain bouncing off your roof, amazing sound. If you live in a city there's no flooding, which makes for a safe rainy season. |

I'm not that fond of spring in Japan actually, apart from the sakura of course. At least in Tokyo you can't tell from one day to another what the temp will be. It snowed in Shinjuku one day last week. A week before that the temp had been at 24 deg C. One day I dress too lightly and freeze, so the next day I wear more, the temp shoots up 8 deg and I cook.
Does it rain heavily in rainy season in Kyoto, japanman? In Tokyo it's all drizzle and overcast. Can't hear the rain on the roof either, there's one more floor above us.
In spite of my whinging about the weather, actually I'm doing well, thanks for asking! |

While the situation you describe may be nice once in a while, I'm not a fan of rain for days on end, especially if temperatures are high.
Anyway, glad to hear someone enjoys that time of year. |
