Try San Luis Potosi for the procession of silence much better than Queretaro and scary it has so many people no noise and some dressed like klu klux clan. First year I was there couldn't understand these clan dolls they sold in shops.

Have lived in Queretaro too and it is a great place love it and miss my friends there.

Miss Mexico like crazy now in Turkey, but spent 3 years in China no Christmas no Easter really strange seeing a Christmas tree in down town Nanjing it was made of CD discs and was huge. Going back to Queretaro, San Juan del Rio, Tequis and SLP this fall for a visit can hardly wait. |

				| Santa Fe, New Mexico for me. I've been in cold, snowy Denver for three and a half weeks helping my Mom with her knee surgery and I need a bit of a break. Going with my boyfriend for a long (and hopefully romantic) weekend. |

Sitting in a cafe in Tuxtla waiting to get the bus back to Puebla. Pretty hot down here. We 'did' Palenque, Ocosingo, Tuxtla (twice) and went down to Barra de Zacapulco which was heaving with holiday makers. We were allowed to release some turtles into the sea which was a pretty cool experience.

I thought Palenque was beautiful. Didn't make it to the jungle to camp - maybe next time. Back home to relax for a few days before school starts up again.

Phil K - that is, indeed, Mick Channon. Good spot. |

I got back from Chiapas on Saturday... Did Palenque, Bonampak, Yaxchilan, Lagos de Montebello, Chincultik, El Chiflon and 2 nights in San Cris. Did a bit of camping and overall I really had a great time. Although, I must confess, I knew that lots of people went to the beach for Semana Santa, but i didn't realize the rest of Mexico went to Chiapas. It was so busy that I didn't really get to enjoy San Cristobal as much as I would have liked. I guess I will plan another long weekend when it's not so full of people....

				| My school is asking me to work a Saturday so that I can have a 4-day puente for the May 1st holiday. I should have a few pesos to spare to get away then.... |

				| Hey, I met two charming school ma'rms from Oaxaca at a gas station in Cintalapa, Chiapas on Friday afternoon. One was from Washington State and the other from Canada. Gave them advice that the beaches of Puerto Arista and Boca de Cielo were traffic jams of beach goers. Any of you ladies? |

In Chiapas, I virtually ditched my Lonely Planet, opting to find places that regular tourists would not visit, which saved my sanity from San Cristbal.

The hightlight was 3 days at Laguna Miramar... a 7 hour truck ride to get there, but one of the most beautiful places Ive ever visted.
