Do you have a good answer to the question, what is the difference between like and as?

Thanks

'Lika' is a mountainous region in Croatia ... 'as' is an English preposition, adverb, conjunction and (occasionally) pronoun.

There is no "good" answer, because the answer depends a lot on the usage.

See pp.312-314 of Swan's Practical Englsh Usage. (Yes, 3 pages of explanations.)

The difference? You mean there is only one?

Are you talking about difference in meaning? Usage? How to construct sentences using them?

Perhaps you could give us some example sentences.

I once had a fairly high-level student who asked me what the difference between "as" and "when" was. I didn't know what she meant but she gave me the example "When I was walking to school" and "As I was walking to school".
