Dear all

Does anyone know what it's like teaching at ITU? Noticed they were advertising. Any info?

Salary is rubbish. accom(if you get it) is in Maslak.

only 3.5 days a week for 1000 USD a month. Depends on your priorities.

There is a lot of BS going around at the mo.

But some like it there and have been there for years.

We either know the same people or all the staff say the same.

to be fair to ITU. The reason people stay is because of the kids. Students are quite good and understand that the admin is BS and do support the teachers. A lot of free time to do privates, etc. good students or good salary at a private uni. Which do you prefer?

Thanks. I was curious as to whether students at a state uni might be a bit more human than those at privates, but the salary is so rubbish I'm not going to ask any more questions! Confused

I heard they were often late payers - often by several months. Not necessarily to native English speakers though.

I would be very surprised if that were the case for the payment of regular salaries to any of their staff ... Turk or otherwise.
