"It's amazing, isn't it, how easily people hand over the reins to those who presume power. Against their own intuition, they allow themselves to trust those who they feel should not be trusted. I include myself as one who once did this. But then again, I was only a child, . . ."
"The only thing certain in times of great uncertainty is that people will behave with great strength or weakness, and with very little else in between. I know from experience."

| Is your new "dream job" going poorly or are you still flogging a dead horse over your experience with Hess? |

Another psychological diversion/smokescreen, CW, to avoid perhaps the content herein? And who'd said "dream job!" You one of those slaves, those duped, the weak? Unable to stand up for anything, other than the fact you must stand up all day in a classroom with a CT for a whip?
Can't get it? Am I "flogging a dead horse?" Who's brought HESS to our attention, but another 'victim?'
Is this, then, "a dead horse?"
Or is this just another 'psychological diversion' tactic of yours?
As for 'the new dream job'., Hess is the 'dream', ie. 'Daring to Dream' remember? My new job is 'the reality.' |

The irony is you talk about content being ignored. I see no content in the original post, just a pair of quotes with no explanation or commentary to contextualize them. Maybe you're trying to impress with your wit or intelligence, but your thread is pointless dribble. |

| Or, again, maybe it was just you who had issues. All of the CTs I work with are sweathearts who are willing to bend over backwards to help you as long as you treat them with respect. Besides, most of them just sit in the back and mark, leaving you to teach unless you specifically ask for assistance. |

| On the one hand, I also couldn't understand if your quotes were applying to your newer job you mentioned, or the former one. But I will agree with the quotes in general, and yes those quotes do apply well to your former job (a company I also was in). |

"The content," Steve, is exactly what the writer meant it to mean in this novel and which could apply to the topic sentence therein, which has to do with "abuse of power" don't you think? And as it applies. . .well. . .there is no "explanation" nor "commentary" but what a person wishes to make it in light of their present circumstances teaching here, which is why I wrote the title "Dealing with a School's 'Power Trip Mentality'."
Then CW comes along, throws in the correlation, so I thought, Yeah, it certainly applies here. Doesn't it now?
As for wit and intelligence, to remark that a mere quote is trying to impress people but the thread "pointless dribble" makes me wonder at the contradiction, such as, "Arrogance and self-awareness are seldom companions." |

Another smokescreen, a retort, or a regression of reasoning, CW, since we're talking about HESS, abuse of power, aren't we?
Now you want to drag the CT's into it, which I used as an example of this abuse. And no, most aren't "sweathearts", but terrible assistants. And your spelling reflects a good analogy. |

What was the name of that bloke a couple of years ago who wanted to sell 'big cheeses'?
Does anybody smell gorgonzola? |

| please, try not to to stay here too much longer. you sound like an angst-ridden 14-year-old, determined to share her supposedly profound insights with an audience that couldn't care less. how difficult life must be, for the scorned teacher... really, isn't there a suicide cult to join, or something slightly more productive than ranting on about the woes of your life? |
