1. what is the cheapest way to send 200,000 yen out of the country??

-a postal money order
-electronic transfer (ignoring the charge on the receiving end)
-other???


2. if i walk/run away from my job, will the twits track me down and screw up my credit history because i didn't pay back my loan for my key money??

Sending money:
1) Direct Electronic Transfer from your bank to theirs.
2) Maaaaybe PayPal.

A postal money order will work, but it is an incredible pain in the pitootie-- there are endless forms, and lines at the post office, etc.-- and once the money gets where it's going, it may take forever to clear at the recipient's bank. Also, the post office might balk at that amount of yen.

Skipping town:
You haven't told us enough, so we can't guess. There are big companies and psychotic owners of small companies that might have the resources or desire to track you down. On the other hand, if the company can stick a replacement teacher into your vacated apartment, the landlord and the company might not give a damn about your unpaid key money.

In general, I think the larger chain schools will try to cut your nuts off, and some of the smaller schools with vindictive/aggro managers might chase after you. If you stay in Japan, they can always find you via your Gaijin Card. They could conceivably erase your ability to live and work in Japan, too, if they got their panties in a big twist.

If you keep using your credit card (and they have your bank information, from paying your salary etc.) they might be able to sic a lawyer on you or screw with your credit rating.

Keep in mind-- if it's a small school, and you like the employer even a little bit, skipping town without giving them a month's warning SERIOUSLY damages them. Small schools don't have the staff to cover classes if you're sick for a day or two, let alone skipping town permanently. So... if you're at all empathizing with the employer, and it's a small school, strongly consider gving them proper notice-- time to find a replacement.

On the other hand, larger schools with high turnover... like Nova, for example... can take the loss of a single teacher without losing a cent or a moment's worry.
