have tried numerous combinations to call the states from the school office.

anyone know the correct prefixes, etc...

have tried 01, 001, 1, 011, with no luck.

You have to remember to dial whatever number it takes to get an outside line, and THEN dial the numbers to make overseas calls.

For the USA, I believe the initial number is 010, then area code and local number.

Get yourself an outside line, then dial

0033 010 (country code) (area code minus the zero) (local number).

America's code is 1, so once youve got your outside line, dial

0033 010 1 (rest of the phone number)
