| I just heard that Indonesia has changed its tourist visa policies from 60 days to 30 days with 48 countries. Anyone know where I can find out more info about it? What is the reasoning behind it? Do they want less tourists or what? |

I think it�s in response to other counters doing that to Indonesia.
And it will cost 30us$ starting in Dec or that�s what was in the paper. |

Apparently the gov't is PO'ed that other countries impose various restrictions on travelling Indonesians, so Indonesia is returning the favour. 
It seems a bit silly to me: tourism in Indonesia has dropped drastically since the Bali bombing - you'd think the gov't would want to encourage tourism, not discourage it! |
