I have a 14 hour layover in Panama City en route to Quito. Arrive at 9PM and depart at 11AM. Couple questions.....
Are there lockers in the airport? How far is the airport from downtown? How much is a taxi into the city? Any cheap hostels/hotels you'd recommend? Bars?.... |

Last summer we purposely had a 10-hour stopover in Panama en route from NY to Peru, so we could see the city. There is a place to store bags at the airport (I think it costs a dollar a bag), and since it is a main connection point for Latin America- tour buses pick people, up at the airport and drop them off later in the day. We saw most of the major attractions, including the canal, and had a blast. It was a very safe country to visit and the use the dollar for currency there. |

I didnt see what time you were going to be there before. Yes you can catch a taxi into the downtown area with no problem. |

Taxis to and from the airport are $25. No express busses.
Often people share, thus reducing the cost in half.
Look for me in the Veneto Casino/Hotel.
Have fun!
