Yaramaz, LOL, you got harassed by Digiturk?! That is so funny.
mongrelcat, Digiturk just cuts the whole thing off. Apparently they send you a message via the TV before they do so.

Oh my, a liason officer! That would be fabulous, it would have enabled me to put more energy into work instead of figuring out how to organise daily life.
We sort of have one, it's the person who does HR. But she doesn't know how to set up a phone line, nor does she have any idea how to pay any kind of bill let alone what to do when you are late with your payment.
Basically she has no clue at all about those things and requests are met with an arrogant look and a "Oh, if it is really necessary I'll do some research on that."
*rant over*

Actually I would have loved if someone had shown me how to use a dolmus and where to do my shopping, etc.

Every year I meet a lot of people who arrive in Izmir with little or no idea about the culture or the language or even how to pay bills or even where to find somewhere to live, it strikes me if what previous posters have echoed that the need for someone ,anyone to give practical and much needed assistance about these issues could make life a whole lot more bearable instead of putting obsceure and difficult obstacles in our path perhaps clearing a few would be more productive .Managers Administrators bosses etc sit up and take not ! Fat chance eh !

Yes, it does! Laughing That's one of the reasons I come here. As well as to read the hilarious comedy fake macho posturing between posters (see other thread). Razz
