i've grown tired of modeling. getting paid to look good has become boring. haha, i know what you're thinking: you can quit your job but you can't just stop looking gorgeous! true, but i thought i would try teaching where the hours and pay must be fabulous. anybody know anyone who does any teaching in istanbul? |

If you're really serious about it, then I have some friends. But be warned, it's a competitive business. Many people think it's all about standing up in front of a class and using lexical methods to elicit language and create a linguistic need for a grammar function. But I've heard stories of people going to jobs only to find a "private" lesson. The lesson starts well, but after a while we find out that the student doesn't want "English" but in fact just need a "t*efl score" It happened to me and I felt very dirty. then there's "observations", I heard of one starry eyed young wannabe-teacher being asked to do a self-assessment for one of the so-called "DOSes". Disgusting. And there's the "conversation" classes, "business" English classes and of course rampant heroin abuse and bestiality.

Who knows Baba. Maybe you will be able to elicit a beer from me.... (being a Scot it's unlikely but no harm in trying) |

Yeah but there's no football. If we meet down the pub we might actuall have to try and have a conversation.
