Since this is the Japan forum, I figgured it would be important to have a thread about the Japanese language. Use this thread to discuss the language, as a question and answer, and to exchange information about useful sites and books that may help us Gaijin learn it.
I'll start by posting a link to a useful site: http://www.thejapanesepage.com/news.php
The Japanese Page is very useful in learning the language, especially for beginners. It has various study tools to help you learn the Kata and Kanji and you can even test yourself to see how much you have progressed. Enjoy.

You posted this thread at 3:01am (presumably Japan time) and bumped it at 10:35 am.
Why? What's wrong with you?
Also, you may want to proofread your thread title. |

June 3, 2007 and Precise/nonsmoker thinks that there isn't any information about learning Japanese on this board. Furthermore, you want information about learning kanji. With all the time and posts you have in the last month, don't you think that you could find some information. Heck, look at my signature. Almost all the information in my signature applies directly to you!
I think the only reason why you want to start this thread is to seem special. You are very tiresome. x 1000 |

No. What I meant was -- what's wrong with you bumping a thread that's only 7 hours old? As far as netiquette goes, it's quite unecessary and in poor form. Do you really plan on bumping this thread each time no one posts a reply every 7 hours?
Usually threads don't get bumped until they fall down to AT LEAST the second page of a forum -- and even then it's questionable whether it warrants being bumped. |

To all newbies (including Precise/nonsmoker/Mr. 245+ posts in a month) the information you need can be found like this:
1. Click the search button at the top.
2. In the Search For Keyboards box, type learning Japanese.
3. Click search for all terms.
4. Change the forum to Japan.
5. Click the search button.
You will then be directed to a page like this:
http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/search.php?mode=results
(this link might not work, as it is a data base search)
My search found 573 matches.

Well, studying Japanese is very important for those now living, or considering living in Japan. You, my friend, are embarking on a wonderful journey by coming to Japan. It is a journey of the soul and of the mind. First of all, let me say Mr.... What was the OP's name, anyway? Let me check... Just a second here while I scroll...
Oh, dear God! I have responded earnestly to a nonsmoker post! Oh... the shame of it all... Only a complete waste of life would take a nonsmoker post seriously... and... now, I have become such a waste... I can't take the shame... must.... open.... a.....vein.... Ahh, there it goes. Goodbye, everyone at Dave's. Goodbye.... Mother and Faaa.... getting sleepy ..... シーーユーー... |

How long until nonsmoker gets banned and things can go back to relative normality here? |

I think 'nonsmoker' is an alias for another sig that has appeared on Dave's.
It's some p rick who has been banned before and judging by the amount of posts they make must spend hours a day on here.
A very poor excuse for a person and I pity the poor firm that has hired this cretin. |

Remember the famous Keith_Allen_W? I think that was his name. He made about 300 posts in a matter of weeks. Then he deleted most of them once he realized nobody cared for his pointless points.
It's nearly 2 AM in Eastern America. I better bump this post in a few hours when I wake up for raquetball.
Enjoy,
