Helllo, I am knew to the forum
I am going to Japan through NOVA, but was wondering if people knew the average time it takes to receive the Certificate and/or process the visa?
Also, can we do anything to request of the consulate to speed up the process?
I know it's a little different for each application, but any info on this would be great! |

Mine took a few months.
Not sure if they can be sped up.
Just be patient. Japan's not going anywhere. |

The certificate can take anything up to 6 weeks. I've had to sort about 20 of these out in my time here and they average 4 weeks.
Once you have that then the visa can be got in a matter of days. If your in Japan with your certificate then you can get your visa in a matter of hours.
The whole process should take no longer than 5~6 weeks but depends on which country you're located.

Differs with the time of year (how busy immigration is) and other intangible factors. There is no way to predict how long it will take. Some say they got it in 2 weeks, while others claim to have waited months. Average time to expect is 4-8 weeks. I got mine in 7.

Essentially, no. Your employer has no way, and you have no way. Unless you own an immigration official, it usually won't happen faster than it happens.
If you are in Japan, you might be able to plead a case, depending on your circumstances and if you don't bug the officials but make a couteous, friendly, professional relationship (not always possible). |
