In terms of deals, and assuming you can get Chongqing to match the Henan 5500, there's nothing to split them, though your money will probably go further in Henan [3000 anywhere is an insult] Both are typical university packages. You need to research the locations. The first is a huge municipality on the Changjiang [Yangtze], renowned for its sweltwering summers. Henan is a province, so you need to find out where in Henan: big or small city, for eg. Factors such as population and climate may be important to you.
A "normal university" is generally speaking a teacher training institute. You may find the students are more receptive to, and even enthusiastic about, learning English. An institute with any derivation of the word "technical" often spells the opposite.
However, please note my cunning use of modals in the advice given above. |

i have researched both parts and there is really no problem with me going to both. I do dislike hot weather as i am from northern canada and i dont mind freezing temperatures.
i asked the chongqing university if i could get a higher wage but they said thats all they would pay me on my experience (4 year university degree) and i have no experience teaching english overseas even though i have experience teaching canadian kids and would have references teaching english here. How can i live on 3000rmb a month? is that just asking for trouble?
im just in a bit of a tough decision here..do i get paid 5000rmb a month to teach students arent as interested as a normal school and get paid less... |

3000 for a degreed teacher with some experience is a slap in the face. You'd certainly make ends meet, but there are hundreds of better jobs out there.
And if you dislike hot weather, much of China is not for you. Have a look at the noth east [dongbei] region. A place like Qingdao, or if you don't mind the cold, Harbin, might be suitable. |

You need to research the proper location of the Chongqing university since "Chongqing" is a broad term encompassing a 70'000 square km municipal territory. You might end up working in the city proper or in a smallish town such as Dazu, or much farther afield.
I don't think the heat is so bad; summers in Henan are pretty hot too though winters tend to be considerably colder than those in Chongqing.
You should take into consideration the nearer environs: Chongqing is close to Chengdu, and to rural Sichuan, whereas Henan is closer to the national capital which holds a lot of attraction for many. |

Do not accept the Chongqing job, 3000RMB is an insult of an offer. |
