I find student respond to this very well.
On many opf the the simpsons videos they have short little compilations which I show to them, and they have to answer questions about them. Also the BBC prime holiday shorts are good listening exercises.
Any other reccomendations? |

| Don't do it baba! Stick to non-relevant topics so you don't get the thread locked! |

| One of my students(advanced) turned up with a Family guy dvd last week asking me to explain some of the jokes. It was brilliant...... hope he enjoyed it too. |

I've got a load of Monty Python vidz with Turkish subtitles. The Cheeseshop sketch had me on the floor with laughter. |

I do think you're being childish, however do you ever use television to enhance the learning experience of your students? |

Anyway I think that the television is underated as a learning tool. I've learnt quite a bit of Turkish reading the subtitles.
What does everyone else think? |

| Any input is beneficial. However, if we are believe Krashen and his i+1 hypothesis then tv is way advanced for most students. |

I don't.
Actually I've never read it.
TV is just about language acquisition. It's also stimulation. Show them a Tom and Jerry cartoon and get them to describe what happened. |
