There are a lot of posts on Interac here and I have read most of them, however, most don't seem to be from people who actually work for Interac. If there is someone out there who has worked for them, or currently works for them I'd love to know about your experience, pros, cons and words of advice. Please do not respond if you have not worked for Interac. Thanks! |

Hi! And welcome to the forum... The folks here at Dave's are usually a pretty helpful bunch... But requests like the one you made are likely to end up in a lengthy discussion about cheese (before the moderators lock it up)...
So to save you that fate, here's a quick little suggestion..... You may want to be a little more specific in your request. Use the Search function, read some of the posts and lurk for a while. If, after that you still don't have the answers you want, go ahead and ask the natives... Keep in mind also that it's usually better to bump an old, relevant thread when possible (rather than starting a new thread about something that has recently been discussed)....
Since I don't know what you are looking for exactly, I just did a Search on Dave's for "Interac" and came up with about 259 hits.... And MANY, MANY of those threads do have lots and lots of general comments already about Interac and what it's like to work for them (first-hand from people who have) as you have indicated that you are after.
But just to get you started, here's a few links

To be completely honest with you, because Interac is a dispatch company (that may be operating on not-so-legal grounds, as you may hear from some people opposed to the company itself), and they send teachers to different public schools, and each school is a self-operating entity completely outside of Interac, literally every experience is different. |

Exactly, all depends on your schools and if the government school system is for you or not. From my experience, no problems at all. I enjoy my work most of the time, have no problems in my classes and I always get paid correctly and on time. |

I've never done the research myself, but I've heard people claim that Interac does not adhere to the dispatching laws of labor and employment standards, and whatever standards that the monbusho has in place. For example, there's a debate about who your actual employer is. Interac has a contract and rules for you to abide by, and you work for them, but I guess that the only legal way to be dispatched is to be under the direct control of your school, not the dispatch company. I'm sure you can dig up some old threads on it. I've never worked for them, this is just hearsay. |

I worked for Interac a few years back and... Wait. Before I respond in detail, let me read the original post again...

Well, frankly, I don't like your tone. That's all I have to say. Good day, Sir!
I said "GOOD DAY", sir!! |

Yeah, good call, chief. Just read through those 259 hits (ooh, are they all full-length threads?? Even better!), many of which may be old and out-of-date.
Or you could ask the people on this board who are currently working for Interac about their current experiences. It's a DISCUSSION BOARD, not a reference book. By making a thread like this you can communicate more or less directly with the people who have the info, plus ask them to address specific concerns you have that might only be addressed on the 236th thread you look at.
And OP, um, can't help ya, never worked for Interac. |

I'll tell you everything I know about Interac if you tell me everything you know about New York. |

Actually, I have read through a lot of the older posts. Most of them seem to turn into agruments and were not helpful to me. Didn't mean to sound snappy, I'm just interested in personal experiences of people who have actually worked for the company, not rants. Thanks for the search, but I didn't have any specific questions, just wanted to hear what real company employees had to say without the arugments. |

Some of those "real employees" did openly share their feelings on the board in the older posts.
Honestly, asking such a general question will not get you anywhere. Some employees enjoy their time with Interac, and others don't. Their experiences are very individual. No matter what anyone tells you, there is no guarantee that you will experience anything even remotely similar.
But good luck in your job hunt. |

Did you READ the OP, SON? He wanted current employees to share their opinions about Interac: How could he make that more specific? . He can't know what they consider to be the most important info about their job until after they tell him. It's not rocket science.
It drives me crazy when people on this board complain about newbies not using the search function, because there are so many good reasons NOT TO use it. This is a DISCUSSION board, and some people feel more comfortable getting answers from, and interacting with, people who are in Japan right now. Panta rei , things change, and old threads with out-of-date advice could do more harm then good.
If someone used the search function to find a good gym in Osaka, they might find my advice from a year ago that Tipness in Namba is great. Well, it isn't good for free-weights anymore, because they re-modeled it more along the lines of a spa for women.
Also, there is a social element to interacting with people on a discussion board that some people enjoy: You can sometimes find others with common interests and share information with them. I remember a thread about buying ingredients for vegetarian cooking in Japan, where the people involved posted some great recipes and info. Thank God the OP didn't just use the search function!
And even if the OP had found some older info on what they were looking for, the new people who posted on the thread brought their own unique knowledge and background to the discussion, extending whatever pre-existing info there was in the archives.
So for all the people who get so ANNOYED about newbies not using the search function, why don't you just ignore their threads? You're constant negative harping and whining makes Dave's a relatively miserable site to read, and it doesn't have to be.
I'm out of here, I usually only check this site about once a week, but even that's become too much. This place is just too pointlessly negative. |

Good thing you actually put together a positive post here. Thanks for shedding some positive light in an otherwise negative forum.
Oh, by the way... シーーユーー! |

Yes, father.

One year, got money, had to wear a suit, have fun.
Rai: I think what Jim and the others are suggesting here are three specific things,
1. Use the search function and read all information available.
2. If the information is not sufficient, revive thread that already exists with your own expansion questions instead of making a new thread.
3. Be more specific about the information you are looking for that wasn't already covered in older threads.
You can't compare a huge company in Japan to your local gym. Nova, Aeon, Interac - They've operated the same way for years and years, and will continue to operate the same way until they collapse or make big enough news headlines (Nova) that even the newest members should already be aware of. |
