Did you READ the OP, SON? He wanted current employees to share their opinions about Interac: How could he make that more specific? |
So, what's with the name calling? Get up on the wrong side of the bed today?
He could have made it a LOT more specific. For instance: Is he looking for comments about work conditions? management issues? accommodation issues? contract issues? placement issues? visa issues? labor law issues? Bloody hell, mate. He may as well have asked us to write him a book on it... Give their impressions? OF WHAT?
You have the same choices as we do -- ignore the thread or not. And obviously, here you've chosen to take issue with those of us who are on here a little more than once a week and would PREFER to see not quite so much litter, junk, and repetitive, redundant posts...
The problem is.... regarding the "search" function -- people DON'T use it. It's there for a reason. Otherwise, how else could people find such helpful threads from days gone by like THIS one.

Here, let me save you the trouble of clicking on it.... Here's MY favorite excerpt:

ARGUMENTUM AD HOMINEM ABUSIVE: More popular than you'd think on a forum used by so many tertiary educated people. Basically just heap as much vitriol as you can on anybody who disagrees with you. Much favoured in primary school playgrounds: "X has stinky paaaaants! X has stinky paaaaants!" |
A bit of food for thought for the next time you start referring to people as "chief" or "son."
What's more, people are just to lazy to READ and even LOOK at some of the information that's out there. if ANYONE took the time to read the stickies (which are also there for a reason) it'd be a far more intelligent place that would be conducive to intelligent discussion. If you want to sit there and defend the rights of n00bs to remain n00bs, then go for it. I'd much rather bring them up to speed not only to answer their questions but to teach them how to do the research to find what's already been painstakingly provided by a lot of people who have generously donated their time.
I wouldn't excuse this either:

If someone used the search function to find a good gym in Osaka, they might find my advice from a year ago that Tipness in Namba is great. Well, it isn't good for free-weights anymore, because they re-modeled it more along the lines of a spa for women. |
What's wrong with just bumping that thread and asking something like: "I noticed that the post about Tipness in Namba was back in June of 2005. Is it still a good place to try out?"
If this "negativeness" bothers you, then maybe you need to spend some time on a forum where people ENJOY answering the same questions over and over and over and over and over again until the cows come home.
Or if you REALLY want to see negativity, just head on over to Gaijinpot... Most of the posters on Dave's who've been here for any length of time are very helpful, but they also tend to have a low BS threshold. There's no free lunch. Do your homework and some legwork and you'll be rewarded. Act like an moron and your question ends up as a discussion about cheese.
