Again, I think "itinerary," as in flight entry and departure dates to and from Taiwan was confused with "itinerary," as in an itemized plan of what you intend to do/visit/see during your stay. I've never been asked for the latter, but the former is necessary. |
Yeah perhaps you're right, I really don't remember the details and I deleted the document that had all the instructions on it for the visa requirements from the prospective employer. |

Here are other questions related to the visa.
If I buy a return airfare ticket, does my return date need to be around the 60-day-mark or can it be earlier like two weeks after I arrive?
And this is also something that has been on my mind...does the price of your airfare go up if you have a significant amount of time in between arrival and departure? For example, say you leave June 1st and your arrival ticket is for August 1st, does that make the price go up?
Do these things really matter with the TECO offices, immigration and the schools?
As always, I will have more questions later!

YES, it MUST be close to the 60 day mark, or your TECO office will only grant you a 30 day visitor visa.

I can assume you mean your arrival is on June 1st, and departure is on August 1st? If this is what your plan is you should maybe plan on departure more like July 25th or so...at least it makes it seem a bit less obvious than 60 days exactly.
As for the airfare question, it depends on what season the ticket is, if it is low or high season. Best bet is to ask a travel agent, they know these things.

What do you mean by "these things"? If you are referring to the information and documentation that you need to supply the TECO office with in order to get a Visa then the answer is, OF COURSE.
You are trying to get a Visitor Visa to enter into their country. Immigration will also care, as their job is to make sure that people entering their country are supposed to be there.
Would you expect "these things" to matter with the Canadian or US Immigration offices? Odds are "they" matter to many other countries as well.
The schools will only care if you don't clear immigration and you can't fill the teaching spot you are supposed to. |
