I interviewed with Nova two weeks ago and haven't heard a thing from them. I called today because I really need to know (my current job wants me to resign) and the lady told me that it would be another couple of weeks. Is this normal? I'm starting to get kinda upset. They told us at the interview that it would be 10 days at the most.

I heard back in under ten days. I imagine a lot of it has to do with the branch you're working with, though, as well as the size of the group you interviewed with. I interviewed with the SF group when they stopped in Denver, and there were less than two dozen applicants. Also, that was back in March. I imagine they're busier everywhere right now, considering that most colleges just finished up with their school year.

I interviewed in Phoenix on the 25th of May. I have an interview with Amity in LA this weekend. Hopefully I will get one of the two! I really want to go to Japan!

I just got accepted! I interviewed at the Boston office. Now I'm just waiting for my degree to come in so I can get the Visa process rolling.

I'm really hoping they will grant my location request. Gotta be in Nagoya!

Don't know if I'm going to take it yet, I'm still waiting to hear from Amity.

Congrats. You'd probably be better off with Amity (unless you don't really want to teach kids all day), but if it doesn't work out, don't let all of the negativity surrounding NOVA right now keep you from accepting the offer. Rumors of NOVA's impending demise have been floating around for years.

Good luck with it all.

Be careful. I heard the NOVA rabbit has gone bonkers with all the negativity recently. Here's a typical day teaching at NOVA.

Thank you, Canuck.

I'm quite sure that's the funniest thing I'm to see today.

Hello all, I am about to make the final steps in accepting my NOVA assignment, i.e. booking the flight and submitting me COE for a visa. If anyone currently working for nova could give a little bit more information about how/if things are changing for the company, I would appreciate it. I have read the posts that say not to worry about nova going belly up, but their current dealings with the japanese government and bad publicity are unnerving for someone about to pull up roots.

This is what my friend working for Nova in Kobe had to say about it

"About the news... It shouldn:t effect things too hard. In my school,
hardly anyone:s mentioned it. Only one student quit because of it,
and only a couple of people have brought it up in classes. On the
other hand, my friend in Osaka got yelled at by a student because of
it.. Sooo.. yeah I dunno. Mostly things are the same. I wouldn:t
worry too much."
