Anyone know a thai place near taksim? I'm still figuring out how to get around so no place in a complicated area haha.
mcdonalds sucks even worse here than it does in Australia haha |

Found one in Levent which is not that far away. Have not eaten there myself though.
Tel: (212)28265388
Payment: Credit/Cash Delivery/Take-out: Yes
Food quality: Excellent
Service quality: Medium
For people who like Spicy Thai food try this, it is very good. Especially the spicy beef salad and the cashewnut chicken you should try. If you like spicy food try the mushroom and shrimp soup. A warm and comfortable atmosphere but please make reservations at the weekends.
Directions: At the beginning of the Nispetiye Cad. on the left hand-side.

There's a cool retro style Thai place called Lokal near Taksim-- can't remember the exact location, but I'll bet someone else does, if it's still there... |

It's one street after Asmali Mescit, heading toward Tunel Square, across from the Swedish embassy, in a small alleyway on the right as you head down. Quite good with an actual Thai chef last I checked. Excellent pho, btw, for those with a hankering for vietnamese. |

I think that's the one I've been to. It's called Thai Pera, isn't it. It's not cheap, but it is very nice. |

Lokal is in Tunel, not Galata, so further up Istiklal. Nearish to Badehane, if that means anything to anyone. One street beyond Asmalimescit on the way to Tunel meydani. The pad thai is pretty decent too. |

yes, so perhaps a 5 minute walk between them. They could probably put another couple in the area and still make a profit.
The best (and perhaps only) Indian restuarant is in Sultanahmet near the tram line. l think it's called Dahl, but l can't remember because l havent been there for years. Though, l hear that it is still fab. |

^ There is a fantasic Indian in Talimhane(coming from Sisli it's the area on the right just before Taksim square) called musafir and another okish one on Akyol in Cihangir.
Do a search on yemeksepati for cuisine in your area. |

Musafir, if I remember correctly, is run by a British Pakistani fellow called Imran who is quite lovely and interesting. He actually works at Yeditepe in the prep department and is doing this as a way to enjoy life more outside of teaching. Fantastic tandooris and he doesn't patronise you with Turkified or Westernised versions of things if you explain that you actually like the food as it's found in India or Pakistan... I heartily recommend it. |

Correct Yaramaz. I don't know the last time you went. If it was wifie then it has moved a few streets. Much bigger and now sells booze. |
