I have just completed my TESL 100 hour course and am anxious to teach in St Petersburg Russia. However I would also really like to hear from someone who has actually done it. Whats it like liveing there? Was it as expensive for you to live there as i have been hearing it is? Whatever kind of information anyone has that they think would be helpful i would greatly appreciate. Thanks |

Greetings!
I've just returned from three weeks in Russia--13 days in the small city of Cherepovets, where I was team teaching in the context of an English camp. It's a nice town, and the preople there really appreciated our coming. They don't get too many American delegations, so we were minor celebrities and appeared in the local newscasts twice.
I also spent 4 days seeing the sights in St. Petersburg. There are parts which are stunningly beautiful. But it's a big city and we were warned to be constantly vigilant--pickpockets abound. It's good to develop a network. Will you have local connections to help you? |

Try the Russia and CIS forum, I'm sure that they can help you there. |
