I have only flown once on an international flight on Turkish Airlines and was not impressed.

Firstly the ticket (from Seoul to Istanbul) was hugely expensive, secondly I could not use an e-ticket, I had to go to their office in Seoul and physically collect the ticket.

Then, I arrived at the airport to check in my baggage, which I knew was overweight (at Heathrow on my outward flight to Korea Asiana Airlines had charged 40 quid) Turkish Airlines quoted 500 dollars! I threw some stuff away and went to another check in desk and got it down to 300 dollars. Still way too much!

The plane was freezing cold. the staff lazy and my meal was still partly frozen. I told an airhostess and she just grunted. A male steward collected my tray and was much more apologetic.

I would never use them for an international flight again.

I have also never known a TA pilot to execute a smooth landing. I have to use them sometimes to fly to Istanbul but that is my only complaint about the domestic service.[/quote]

Does this mean that you will no longer be staying at your usual residence in sirkeci?

It's a shame they've stopped all that clapping on landing ...

The passengers still sometimes clap after landing. I think it is rather nice - and a reminder of how unnatural it is to travel through the air in a metal tube at 600kph !
