He's not in Hunan anymore and I doubt that he's still in Kansas too.

I believe HFG has suggested quite often in recent posts that he's in Guangzhou. Anyway, what difference does it make?

For sure...that's the case.

Now, would like you me to very politely and respectively suggest where I think you might go?

Back to the OP's ????

The main thing to beware of is making assumptions about China and the Chinese until you've been able to look at situations not just once but many times. For example, we all know that 90% of Chinese lie, but often it's being done so that they don't hurt your feelings.

Kind of like me and my 2nd wife who was putting on a few pounds some years back. She asked me, "Honey, do I look fat in this dress?" Now, what do you think my answer was?

Beware of other FT's acting as self appointed "thought Police" for whatever reason collecting intel on what you say, and reporting in to the owner or leader of the school. Also remember that every member of the Chinese staff is obligated to relay information when asked by a leader. They are walking parrots in Human skin so to speak.

Oh no!!!!! the foreigner said this and the foreign teacher said that!!!!!!

As far as your fellow laowei goes take time to find out who you can trust by whatever means. A little "misinformation" goes a long way here.

This is not a "free speech" society, a good rule of thumb in China is "If you don't have anything good to say don't say anything at all"!!!!!!

Good luck and watch out for traps!!!!!!!!!

They want to know what you think!!!!!

I agree with the Kid from Bklyn. Beware of what you say to the Chinese staff. You can not trust them.

As for this - *Well, the Greater Vancouver Regional Dictrict is made up of 12 cities, 1 township, 3 districts, 1 corporation, 1 municipality, and 3 villages. So, just because someone claims he/she is from *Vancouver* doesn*\'t necessarily mean he/she is from the actual city of Vancouver. People are more familiar with Vancouver than they would with, say, Coquitlam.*

Namdek has a puppy.

I*m PROUD to be where I*m from, therefore I say - *I*m from xxx, it*s close to ...*
