Hello everyone.
Hope you are having a good day.
I am considering a recent teaching job offer I have recieved. Can anyone explain why my email replied to email addresses in KSA work place( they are . gov.sa/ ,ucj.edu.sa) were all blocked by Barracula spam firewall, I keep receiving these messages from Barakuda that my messages were not delivered. Is that my email address or what other problems it could cause??
Thank you. |

Have you tried disabling it before you send the emails? Does Barracuda have a help desk or facility for reporting problems? |

Stephen Jones is one of our regular posters here. If he is online and knows the answer, I'm sure that he will show up here.

I think the problem is with your firewall system (barakuda), you might have chosen the option to block any inward/outward email containing anything as "edu.sa" or ".sa".
I used to contact my friends in KAU and UCJ (edu.sa and ucj.edu.sa), and did not experience any problems.
Try to send the same message to another email addresss, which does not contain any 'edu.sa' or '.sa', and check if it will be delivered or not? |

I know the problem now.
One NGO staff in Japan told me that their organizations are having trouble sending monetary donations to underdevelopment countries, esp. Muslim countries..because of amreica`s war on terorism.
If someone sent money via bank to bank transfer, all amount would be confiscated by world police.
Perhaps, my messages must have been blocked for same reason,I wonder. |

I do not think so. The above problem has nothing to do with Internet and Firewall Systems, it is more related to Uncle Sam new 'anti-terrorism' laws after 9/11.
The above problem is a financial one, which is concerned with people sending money to Islamic charities an islamic parties, which are black listed by Uncle Sam and his associates.
The 'world police' is in fact the International Police, and is not involved in international Criminal prevention, its main function is to assist in the training and stabilization of a destabilized region, or creation of indigenous police forces primarily in war torn countries. And it is different from the Interpol, which is concerned with unsolved crimes, drug traficking, money laundering, and criminals, etc. And its main role is the passing on of information, and does not haves actual law enforcement.
As I said before, your problem is a technical one, and you can solved it by seeking advice from your Internet/Computer technician or Web master. |

I'd say the problem is with your sysadmin, who has allowed the mail server to function as a open relay server at some time. As these can be used to send spam the IP address will have got blacklisted.
What your sysadmin needs to do is check that the open relay has been closed, and then to contact the black list and get the college off the list. |
