Ignore those silly people, Susan dear, they're just envious.
Dig out your skimpiest bikinis, tightest t-shirts and shorts and a Madonna-sized crucifix. If you have any space left in your suitcase, pack a few Bibles for the enlightenment of the locals. You'll knock 'em dead in Saudi! |

LOL Grahamb....The Saudis will knock her dead. Did you know that in Riyadh they hold public beheadings! I don't think the locals are going to want enlightenment, especially from a foreigner!
This could lead to a new thread: What's the penalty for wearing a thong or a speedo in the magic kingdom?

Does anyone know the president of the mysterious order of the UMO's? Maybe we could ask her what the etiquette is on what to wear for one's own beheading.
She might suggest Armani or Versace, under the abaya of course. |

Do you have females in your clan to worry? Or they don`t pay attention to you either?
At least Saudis are, according to posters on this Forum who are working in the Kof SA for years, treating their own females or people who work for them( again should I say), from your point of view, bad..
No ideas why some people are making a fuss about others ` lives ??? |

On second thoughts, Susan, forget the Bible and take a few copies of The Satanic Verses.
By the way, what does "unannonymously" mean? |

Susan, it is fashionable in Saudi Arabia to leave your abaya unbuttoned and wear short shorts under it while strolling through the mall.
Also, taxi drivers will be offended if you don't start up a long personal conversation with them, telling them what it's like to be a single woman.
And those men looking at you from the other cars, they just want an innocent cross-cultural experience, so you should roll down the window and say "salaam alleikoum" with a cheery smile.
Also, it's traditional Saudi culture to keep that bluetooth on all the time, especially when there are lots of Saud men milling about.
Have fun! |

Ok, guys, it's time we told SusanWW the TRUTH about Saudi Arabia. Enough of this kidding around with dire warnings. I've started with the above posting, and I'd like to add a couple of more things.
*Saudi Arabians are all good, faithful Muslims, and they are honest to a fault. They may even pay you more than your contract states, just to be certain they haven't cheated you
*All housing in KSA is luxurious and generously furnished. You can expect everything to work perfectly. If it doesn't, an embarrassed Saudi manager will rush right over and get it fixed immediately.
*Men in KSA have total respect for women and would never regard them as sex objects since their religion forbids that. They also have enormous respect for the female intellect, and tend to let women make most of the decisions, especially in the workplace
*You'll never be bored in the Kingdom. All Saudis love foreigners, and everyone will be inviting you over for dinner. Also, there are so many things to do and sights to see.
I'll be glad to write later with more truths about the Magic Kingdom as
SusanWW sees it. |

Haha man that's great! Seriously LOLing right now!!!
Here is one:
Saudi Arabia is NOT a desert despite popular opinions and millions of maps and satellite images. It is a lush green country with an equal mixture of rain forests and grasslands. Abundant rain, almost daily all year long!!!
Oh how great it is! In fact, it is more like dessert than desert!!! |

| Yet again Trapezius and other male posters are giving a female a hard time. Would Susan's contributions have provoked such ridicule if her name had been Steve or Stan? Cleopatra will have something to say about this, I'm sure. |

Sheikh, We have been given susan seious advice, yet she dissmisses it and compares KSA to Japan. Now it's just a big joke! I mean how could anyone think that they (especially a woman) will go into KSA and expect society to change.
As a woman, I feel scared for Susan. I hve many Saudi friends and the tell me the truth. Go to House of Saud on the net.
KSA can be the right place for some TEFL teachers, but I'm sure it will be harder for women.
Please Cleo, weigh in on the matter. We need another voice of reason. |

Yes, there are male beheadings in KSA. Managed to see one.
However the women do not get the big pain in the neck. They are stoned and I do not mean with Cambodian Red either.
Of course for the lesser matters there are the public lashings. Or you can get unluck and go to a Saudi prison.
You do have one get out of jail option. Offer the victum blood money, if the relatives accept, so will the courts.
