Hi,
I am evaluating and offer from King Faisal University for Assistant prof position. I am more concerned about the allowances, especially, the kids Education allowance. Does anyone have information to share, please? I would appreciate it.

They did not tell you ? Alarm bells ! There are not many western English teachers at King Faisal (I assume you mean the one in Hofuf with another campus in Dammam). You may not get an answer on this forum.

Maybe the non-payment of educational allowances explains why they do not get many western teachers ?

Hmm! That probably explains that. Yep, it is the one with Campuses in Hofuf and Dammam. How did you get the information? I hope we can get a reply from an insider about the value of the other allowances. Thanks a lot though!

So the answer is that there is no package for Westerners there and they have no Westerners as a result !

Actually, there is an American curriculum school in Abqaiq, which is not far from Hofuf. In fact, it is says on their page that they serve the Abqaiq and Hofuf communities. I am sure there have to be some Westerners in Hofuf.

The fee structure, and a few other hints on the website indicate that the school is for 'non-Western' children.
