Went to the PSB in a smaller city in Liaoning province today to finalize the processing of two Z visaa; one was a renewal, the other a conversion from an F to a Z. Each visa cost 400 yuan, an increase of 250 yuan over last year's fee. The explanation provided by the official was that this office was previously unaware that other provinces were charging much more than 150 yuan for a Z visa. The cost of the visa is covered in the contract but I was wondering how much did your Z visa cost in China?

As I remember, China has a reciprocal policy. They charge the same as what your home country charges. When your home country raises its rate, the PSB raise your rate. As I remember, Brazil is very high

To provide a little more information to TWs post. If you get your RPF for one year less a day it will cost 400 RMB and any amount of time up to that period. If you get your RPF for 1 year or more the cost goes to 800 RMB. So for those of you who have to pay for your own RPFs always make sure your school puts it in at one year less a day to save yourself the money. This is the same in every province, although there was some confusion in many areas when the RPF was first introduced to replace the old green book.
An F visa will only cost 150, and that is probably where the original poster is noticing the difference. These rates do not (should not - as they are set by the central gov) vary from province to province, but will vary by country of origin.

In Xi'an , I paid 400 RMB and my school paid 400 RMB. When I get home, I will check it out. I would like to save 200 RMB . I am pretty sure for one year.
