|
|
I searched but couldn't really find anything, but I heard someone mention once that you could have something large (like a TV) sent on a ship internationally, but I never got a price. I am in Seoul, destination Thailand. I want a quote to know if it's worth it for a 32" flat panel, a large surround sound speaker set, and a few other boxes of stuff that would take up maybe a 6' x 6' palette.
Does anyone have any information about a) the price and b) what exactly I'd have to do (i.e. do I have to get the item to the place, or do they pick up).
Thanks in advance! |

Maybe asking on the Korea Forum would be the best thing to do? I'm not saying that there aren't any people in Korea on this board (because they are and I'm one of them) but that using the Korea Forum would probably get you a better answer as there are a load of people on that forum in Korea.

I suggest the question would be more usefully posed to shipping companies than English teachers. It's unlikely that too many teachers have any idea how much it would cost to ship a tv Seoul-Thailand. |

Whatever you do, don't use the regular Korean mail!!
I had a box shipped from the US to Korea that never made it, and another one sent home from Korea that was also MIA.
Call DHL. |

I'd be a bit worried about damage and red-tape shipping a TV.
Also worth mentioning; Bangkok is a mecca for electronics of all kinds.
For a few hundred dollars you can buy a quality flatscreen TV with stereo.
If I were you, I think I'd sell the electronic gadgets and buy new toys over here.

this is a very sound piece of advice. how old is the tv? maybe a new one with your first pay check would be the way to go? i remember i bought a new camera with mine. still have it four years later and surely i need a new one! |

A footnote to what I wrote above; I was in Tesco-Lotus this afternoon.
A 32" flat-screen TV with tower speakers is US $750 to $1,000
depending on the particular brand name and options.
That's a little more than a few hundred.
Oooops.

So what happened in the end? Which option did you go for? |
