Hi, I'm a newly-certified CELTA teacher looking for a job in Mexico. It seems a bit risky to flight out to Mexico without securing a job in advance, but I'm struggling to find much advertised online. Does anybody have any advice as to how I should proceed?
Many thanks,

You've missed most of the advertised on-line jobs because the school year has just started.
However, these jobs (advertised ones) are few in Mexico. In most of the larger cities there are enough people applying in person that schools don't need to advertise. If you have enough money to live for a month and get back to the UK if you decided to (or need to) leave soon, then there is no reason why you shouldn't feel comfortable coming without a job lined up.
Someone in Mexico City recently mentioned that Wall Street in Mexico City is usually hiring. It sounds like a good place to start out for a new teacher.
Be sure to get your new CELTA Apostilled (see sticky at the top of the forum) and your degree too.
good luck and welcome to the forum, |

International House in DF is also hiring. All the travel you have to do to different classes sounds a little difficult, but it might suit you if you're just starting out. |

Definitely come in person. That way you can check out the schools for yourself. Just bring enough money to get home, as mentioned before, and call it a holiday if it doesn't work out for any reason. |

I thought the OP was aspiring to go to Canada. Change in plans? |
