I understand what you need to have to get a work permit with one untouched exception. I wonder if a B.Ed would work to get the permit in the absence of TEFL?

Thanks in advance.

I don't have the first hand experience because I don't have B.Ed, but I was told that if you have B.Ed in English with teaching credential or Masters in English, you don't need TEFL cert.

I guess if you have the "underwater basket weaving" B.Ed, then you would need a TEFL cert.

Thanks, good for me if you are right. I heard the underwater basket weaving is good to have in dive resorts but unfortunately I chose English and Multi-Cultural Studies. Thanks for the input.

A Bachelors in underwater basket-weaving is probably more use than a 4-week TESOL cert!
