Hi,
I'm wondering where to begin. I have a BA in Spanish & I minored in TESOL from a university in the USA. I want to teach English abroad, but I don't have a certificate. Doesn't the fact that I studied TESOL @ a university count for anything? I'm mostly interested in teaching in Latin America, but I don't know where & how to begin my job search. Any advice? |

You should be good to land jobs with the qualifications you have, though if you lack teaching experience, not every job will be open to you.
Timing is most important...late August and September for Mexico and Central America, late February for most of South America for anything from primary to university teaching. Language schools hire year round pretty much if you're planning to arrive somewhere in the middle of the school year.
Start by checking the job ads on this site at http://www.eslcafe.com/jobs/ TEFL.com is another good source of job listings. |
