Yeah, I was kind of freaking out there for a second but a friend sent me the following message:

and they didn't get you.

What these scams usually do is to try to get you to
send money for a visa fee or for the recruiter's fee.

As long as you didn't give them access to a bank
account number, a credit card number or send them a
money order, you're in the clear.


I take it he's right. I sure hope so. I don't care to contact these people again. That's a kind of fun I can do without.

No sense of adventure eh? Laughing I don't blame you, but it would be interesting to see at what point in the process they start working to separate you from your money for this non-existent job.

Just the fact that they 'hired' you in a nanosecond with no interview for near double the average salaries in the Gulf certainly shows what crooks these people are.

Can't stress too many times on these threads to people poking around the Internet looking for information:

Never send personal information like a passport number until you verify that the job is legit. Never send money to process an application.

My guess is that there are some innocents who do give away passport numbers and do send money or these hiring scams wouldn't be so prolific.
