What is your take on NOVA deducting rent from teacher salaries but not actually paying the rent on apartments? If a company deducted a portion of my salary for say pension or healthcare and then the money never actually went there.... Is this a new legal ramification for NOVA?

That what I was wondering about. Seems like a crime to me. Of course I've yet to hear more than just anecdotal evidence of teachers being evicted from their apartments.

You can bet your life that the Nova contract is so vaguely worded that they could weasel out of it some way.

Hoser, did you find any information from the meeting? It was today, right?

All I know is that my coworker said her boyfriend (who is an AT) did not get paid today as promised. I talked to my AT, and he said it was pushed back to tomorrow. I thought the story was on Friday that they couldn't get it in on time before the long weekend. I'm not sure what their excuse is today. I'm supposed to work overtime tomorrow but I will not be going in (if I don't find out soon that a lot of people have been paid).

I would do the same as you. In fact, I wouldn't go in for any overtime. NOVA aren't worthy of your trust if they keep reneging on promises to pay.
