It's gonna be absolute *beep* but I think NOVA will last for a couple of more months at least-especially if they get an infusion of cash and restructure. That should be enough time for me to get my holidays used up and get the hell out of there.

Not likely Hoser. Be ready for anything next week. Tueday or maybe Wednesday and it could be all over.

Hang in there, Hoser. The difficult times are temporary: I know, I know, but it really sucks when one is in the middle of them.

You'll get through this. Good on ya.

Our branch was on the verge of topatsuing until Tuesday when things got straightened out-but we've decided to work.

I'm glad you guys didn't, toppatsu is crazy at the moment. I can see why Nova paid the MM instructors first. Usually toppatsu is handled by a regular crew of 8-10 instructors but today almost 50 teachers were doing it. It sucks for everyone involved particularly the students, they usually look shell-shocked.

Nova should be OK until Oct 15th, possibly even until November. Possibly...

Regarding Nova leased apartments, surely taking money for housing out of someone's pay, then not actually paying the rent so that the employee is served with an eviction notice is pretty much stealing money (completely aside from not paying for work done). Someone should report Nova to the police!! Let's go to the Koban now!

It could be construed as embezzling, couldn't it?

I rented an apartment to a Nova teacher up until last month. Luckily (for both of us, I s'pose) we dealt directly with each other and not through Nova. He's left the company and Japan, and I'd hazard a guess that he counts himself lucky to have got out while the getting was good.

I just got word that nobody got paid today like they were supposed to. That's the 4th delay. I will NOT be going to work tomorrow-I'll be fucked if I'm going to work overtime and not get paid for it.

Just out of interest what was the result of today's meeting? Did you get any new information?

So, any word?

Hoser, did you stay home? Did any other teachers walk out in response to another late payment?

AT's still haven't been paid. I really feel sorry for them. They joined the borg but I'm sure they didn't realize they were going to get shafted like this. I took today off because I was supposed to work overtime. I'll probably go into work tomorrow.

I've resigned and am now desperately searching for a job before I have to pull the plug and go home. Pay is now 12 days late and counting.

Today, unlike yesterday, I got no word nor any attempt at an explanation. They aren't even pretending that they're going to pay us anymore.

Tomorrow is staff pay day and they have no chance, although they'll probably soldier on and pretend nothing is wrong like they have several times already.

Good luck to all of us, we'll need it.

I can confirm that my AT has not been paid either, and he is getting mighty pissed off as you could imagine...A strange piece of news however, is that my roommate said he received his salary advance yesterday. I was quite shocked to hear this, and although I seriously doubt I will ever see any money myself, it does create a tiny speckle of hope in the back of my mind...
