|
|
I have done a search on this and haven't really found any relevant information.
-Before gaining a Working Holiday Visa (WHV) the embassy stipulates the holder must be "of good health", what requirements or checks do the need regarding this side of the application?
Thanks for any help:) |

I am a Kiwi who originally came to Japan on a WHV and I don't recall any health checks. I think they are hoping you will be honest with that one and not come to Japan if you are suffering from a terminal illness.
I don't think you would be turned down if you suffered from something like asthma though. |

Try not to cough up blood during the interview. Other than that, they do nothing in most instances. |

Previously a medical examination was required for the actual WHV to be issued.
When applying at the embassy for the WHV they would ask that a note from a doctor be provided stating that you are in good health without any contagious diseases.
Last I heard of this was some two years ago so things could have changed.
I don't see the harm in booking an appointment and having a note written though, to be on the safe side of things. |

Not in NZ it hasn't been - or at least, not IME or that of anyone I know that's used one in the last fifteen years! :) |
