Has anyone taken the Masters in TEOSL distance learning course from U. Birmingham? Is it worth the expense and time? I see a lot of adverts for it over here in Japan. Any info would be appreciated.

I heard that you do not get a tutor but your assignments are marked by anon postgraduate students. |

I had two excellent tutors and a highly professional dissertation supervisor. There was a brief period in 2006 when the regular markers went on strike and some postgrads did some marking. Big uproar. It only happened once. |

The actions of the postgrads probably contributed to the employers confidence in keeping the wages down at the time. |
